The most convenient beach day in Naples, if you understand the parking garage.

Vanderbilt Beach in North Naples is the beach most visitors end up loving, for an unglamorous reason: it has a multi-storey parking garage. In a county where beach access is often decided by whether you found a space by 9:30am, that is decisive.
The Collier County garage at the end of Vanderbilt Beach Road is the main access. It is metered — bring a card, and expect a per-hour rate — and Collier County residents with a beach parking sticker park free. In peak season, mid-January through Easter, the garage fills by late morning on good weather days. Arrive before 10am or after 3pm.
There is additional metered street parking along Gulf Shore Drive to the south, and Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park is a five-minute drive north if the garage is full.
Wide, fine, white sand with a gentle slope and generally calm water. The stretch immediately south of the garage access is the busiest and has the rental umbrella and chair operations. Walk ten minutes north and you reach the quieter end where the beach narrows toward Wiggins Pass. Walk south and you pass the resort frontage, which is public below the high-water line like all Florida beaches.
This is Vanderbilt's real advantage. The Ritz-Carlton's beachfront bar sits at the north end and is open to non-guests. Turtle Club and other beachfront restaurants are a short walk south along the sand. And Mercato, a five-minute drive inland, has a dense cluster of restaurants and bars for afterwards.
Excellent, and less crowded than the Pier. The best position is north of the garage where the beach widens. Get there 40 minutes early in high season if you want a spot on the sand rather than behind the rental chairs.
