Cookie Notice
Two kinds of cookies exist on this site: one that remembers you dismissed the banner, and Google Analytics so we know which guides are worth writing more of.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a site stores in your browser. Similar technologies — localStorage, pixels and device identifiers — do much the same job and are covered by this notice too.
Cookies used here
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| bonf_cookie_notice | Strictly necessary preference: remembers that you closed the cookie banner so it does not reappear. Stored locally in your browser, never sent to us. | Until cleared |
| _ga | Google Analytics: distinguishes one browser from another so visits can be counted. | Up to 2 years |
| _ga_<id> | Google Analytics: maintains session state for the property. | Up to 2 years |
We use no advertising, remarketing or social-media tracking cookies, and we run no ad network on this site.
Why we measure traffic
Analytics tells us which Naples guides people actually read, which searches bring them here, and whether pages load properly on phones. It is reported in aggregate — we cannot and do not try to identify individual readers.
Turning cookies off
- Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies for this site — every major browser allows it, and nothing on this site breaks without them.
- Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop analytics collection everywhere.
- Enable your browser's tracking protection, or a privacy extension, or Global Privacy Control.
Links to other sites
When you follow a link to a restaurant, park or boat-tour operator, that site sets its own cookies under its own policy. We have no control over those.
