Who we are

The Best of Naples Florida is an independent editorial guide to Naples, Florida, published at thebestofnaplesflorida.com. This policy explains what happens to information when you read the site.

What we do not do

• We do not offer accounts, logins or user profiles.
• We do not run a contact form, newsletter sign-up or comment system.
• We do not sell, rent or trade information about you.
• We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

What is collected automatically

Like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard server logs when a page is requested — IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, referring page and a timestamp. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting.

We also use Google Analytics to understand which guides people read and how they arrive. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects a truncated IP address, page URLs, referral source, approximate location (usually city level) and device information. It is configured for aggregate reporting only: we look at trends, not individuals, and we do not attempt to identify any reader.

Cookies

The site itself does not need cookies to function. The only cookies set are the analytics cookies described above, plus a single local preference stored in your browser to remember that you have dismissed our cookie notice. Our guides link to independent businesses in and around Naples — beaches, parks, restaurants, marinas, charter and boat-tour operators. Those sites are not under our control, have their own privacy practices and may set their own cookies. Following a link means you are subject to that operator's policies, not ours.
